Part of Phase 2 — what we build on the brand foundation

Software built around how your business actually works

Scheduling, invoicing, dashboards, customer portals — purpose-built for your workflow in 4-8 weeks. Not a template. Not someone else's SaaS. Yours.

Where this sits

This is part of Phase 2 — what we build on your brand foundation.

Every engagement starts with Discovery — a brand audit and an ops audit, included, no charge. If your brand is solid, Phase 1 runs in Capture mode (lighter, faster, cheaper). If there are gaps, Phase 1 runs in Rebrand mode. Either way, the design system is in place before any build work begins. We don't ship code against a brand we haven't audited.

The chaos state

Your business outgrew its systems a long time ago

The processes that got you here won't get you further. Here's what that looks like.

Scattered systems

You're running your business across 12 different tools

Scheduling in one app, invoicing in another, client communication in a third. Nothing talks to anything else. Data lives in silos. You're the integration layer — and it's costing you hours every day.

Manual bottlenecks

Your team can't move without you

Every decision, every approval, every customer follow-up routes through you. The business doesn't run unless you're in the building. That worked at $2M. It breaks at $10M.

  • Scheduling conflicts that eat 5+ hours a week
  • Invoicing delays that extend cash collection by 15+ days
  • Leads falling through cracks because nobody owns the follow-up

Process

From diagnosis to running system.

Five steps. Clear milestones. You see progress every week.

    Week 1

    Discovery

I walk through your operations, map the workflows, and identify where time and money are leaking.

    Architecture

I design the solution — data model, user flows, integrations. You approve the blueprint before anything gets built.

    Build

Weekly demos, not a black box. You see working software every Friday and give feedback that shapes the next sprint.

What you get

A system built for how you actually work.

Not off-the-shelf software that forces your business to change. Custom technology that matches your workflow from day one — ten deliverables, fixed scope, one fixed quote. Every item is on the table from day one so there are no surprises at launch.

10 deliverables Fixed scope 30-day support
  • Custom web application

Built around your actual workflow, not a SaaS tool's assumptions about your business.

  • Admin dashboard

Real-time visibility into the three metrics that matter. Not fifty charts, the right three.

  • User authentication and roles

Email, SSO, or magic links. Role-based permissions so the right people see the right things.

  • Database and API layer

Schema built from your operations, not force-fit into a generic template. You own the data.

  • Third-party integrations

Stripe, QuickBooks, Slack, HubSpot, your existing stack — wired in from day one, not bolted on later.

  • Automated workflows

Triggers, approvals, notifications, and handoffs that used to live in spreadsheets and group texts.

  • Mobile-responsive design

Designed mobile-first. Your team uses it from a truck or a desk with the same ease.

  • Data migration from existing systems

Legacy spreadsheets, Airtable bases, old CRMs — cleaned, mapped, and imported before launch.

  • Team training and documentation

Written docs, video walkthroughs, and a training session. Your team knows the system by launch day.

  • 30 days of post-launch support

Bug fixes, small tweaks, questions answered. Included in the fixed quote.

Brand-tech integration

Built on your brand foundation

Your platform UI uses your design system. Your error messages sound like your brand. Your dashboards use your colors and your typography. Brand isn't a coat of paint applied at the end — it's wired in from the schema layer up.

Operations platform for Toronto's largest exotic animal event company

Hands On Exotics was running 1,200+ events per year across spreadsheets, group texts, and the owner's memory. We built a three-app monorepo — public booking site, admin dashboard, and offline-capable handler PWA — with a custom constraint engine for animal safety rules.

FAQs

Questions about custom platforms

The questions that come up most often on discovery calls. If yours isn't here, ask it on the call — the answer is usually "yes, and here's how."

Book a discovery call →
It depends on what the project needs. Most platforms are built on Next.js, Supabase, and Tailwind — but I'll choose whatever fits best. You'll never be locked into a stack that doesn't serve the business.
Yes. QuickBooks, Stripe, Google Workspace, Slack, CRMs — if it has an API, I can connect it. The goal is replacing what's broken, not replacing everything.
That's expected, not a problem. Weekly demos exist so you can course-correct in real time. Scope adjustments happen in conversation, not through change orders and lawyers.
You do. Every line of code, every database, every deployment configuration. It's your business — the technology should be yours too.
You will. Phase 1 is part of every build engagement — it's how we make sure the technology we build matches the brand it's serving. The form depends on what Discovery finds. If your existing brand is solid, Phase 1 runs in Capture mode (lighter, faster, cheaper). If there are gaps, it runs in Rebrand mode. Either way, you'll know the scope and price before any chargeable work begins.
$20,000. Below that threshold, off-the-shelf SaaS or no-code tools are probably a better fit. I'll tell you that on the discovery call if it applies — I'd rather point you in the right direction than sell something that doesn't fit.
I deploy to production-grade infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase, AWS — depending on needs) and can manage it as part of a monthly retainer. You can also bring your own DevOps if you have one.
Most platforms I build are mobile-responsive web apps — they work on any device. If you need a native iOS/Android app, I can scope that as a follow-on project or build a progressive web app that installs like a native app.
